1. Ghania Chughtai: Read and practice writing a minimum of three words daily from the guide books I have given you. If you feel confident then you can read a few more but only if you can concentrate properly. You should not do extra if it feels a strain.
2. Shazia Ullah: Practice writing a few words daily by repeating each word several times and then write without looking.
Year 10 (a6 and bc2)- read sections on factors, multiples and angles from revision books and do the homework set on mymaths.
Year 9 a3 and Year 8 a3 and b4 - do homework set on mymaths. If you have forgotten your login details, go to bbc bitesize and revise coordinates and algebra (year 8) or averages and graphs (year 9).
Year 7 b1 - use the internet (eg. bbc bitesize) or revision books to revise averages, bar charts and pie charts.
Learning objective: To express one amount as a fraction of another.

Having marked your end of term test you need to target "Bearings", either using Mathswatch CD or Edexcel CD Chapter 7. Try questions from Ex 7e in homework book please.
Also, Learning objective: To convert between metric and imperial units.

Go over fractions and transformations.
Research current issues in the Arab world and to complete past exam paper.
Complete reading texts.
Carry on working using the text book.
Continue to work independently on the chapter on Contingency Tables.
Revise the chapters on Introductory Statistics, Probability and what has been done so far on Numerical Measures.
Revise from the 4-Speed Book the Number and Algebra topics done so far.
From the textbook, finish ratio and proportion (Ch 30) if you have not done so and then carry on, as far as possible, with trigonometry. Those of you, working ahead of the course independently,carry on as much as you can.
A2 Psychology groups 13B and 13C
Students are to print out/read relationships revision worksheet and complete essay plans for the exam style questions.

Students are to print out/read exam hints/tips booklet. Also, print out and complete revision question booklet.

Students need to learn their Pantomime scripts for Monday's lesson, which will be a full run through without scripts.
Students are advised to draft any remainding coursework. Deadline for neat Copies of ABERFAN page 1 will be FRIDAY 15th January.
Students will have a one hour exam on Tuesday 12th. It is recommended that students look at the attached paper (acting evaluation) and consider their answers.
KS4 GCSE and BTEC Performing Arts
Yr 13 A Level (Mr Mustafa/Mrs Wragg) - Continue with revision for Unti 63, using examples from past papers at the OCR website. Remember that Unit 63 is similar to 2517 in the old specifications. Use the archive papers to revise, but check against the chapters in the text book.
Yr 12 AS Level (Mrs Connolly/Mr Bashir) - Continue with next chapter in the text book for Unit 61. Make notes and attempt all the end of section questions. Continue with spreadsheet work, especially reviewing design work in the light of recent lessons. The design may need to be re-annotated in view of recent work. Check that your test plan covers normal, extreme and erroneous data.
Yr 11 GCSE ICT (Mrs Connolly and Mrs Marsh) - Continue to develop your design work, especially, annotated sketches of your planned work e.g. spreadsheet layouts and database queries and reports. Also continue writing and developing your test plan. Examples of work can be found at the following link:

Yr 10 GCSE ICT (Mrs Wragg) - Rewrite aspects of the website design indicated in the Learning Conversations. Write an introductory paragarph outlining what makes a 'good' web-site and the sorts of things that Hickley Travel should consider when designing their web site. Re-visit the designs for other pages now that you have had some experience making the home page. You may need to re-annotate aspects if you have changed your design. Year 7, 8 and 9
How has technology been used to allow people to communicate in the bad weather conditions? You are to design a Poster Design a poster promoting the use of ICT to stay in touch during bad weather.
Year 10 Double Award: Year 10
Mr Mustafa/Ms Barud – You will need to plan your 10 pages for your Multimedia Presentation. You will need to think about what will go on your pages: information, images, will you have music/sound and videos?
Remember your presentation is to advertise a concert at Whalley Range that will raise money for your chosen charity.
OCR Level 2 Year 12
Mr Mustafa – Students need to complete their multimedia presentations and annotate what multimedia elements they have used. How have they helped the audience and the purpose? They will also need to create a small movie using Movie Maker to include in their presentations.
Mr Bashir – Students need to collect a variety of images for their product. You will need to annotate the images stating where they found.
OCR Level 3 Year 12 and Years 13
Mrs Connolly - Year 12 Level 3: You will need to complete 3a, b and c and start to prepare rough 4a for Unit 2.
All Year 13 Students: Students need to make sure that they are up to date with all the tasks and must complete any work that is missing.

Ensure your development has significant depth and is directly influenced to the artists you have studied, to inform your final outcome.

Work on your new coursework unit set by Mr Dickinson. Produce work discussed in class either in your sketchbook or on design sheets.
Work back into the coursework units; Fruit & Veg, Journals. Complete further development to improve your grade. Complete an artist research sheet, analysing the style of work and discussing how the style relates to your own work. Ensure your development clearly shows each stage of your investigations towards your final piece. Work in your sketchbook or on additional design sheets.
Produce a series of quality observational drawings of items within a handbag. This could be make up, money, purse or general clutter within your bag. Use a range of media, pencils, fine line pen, pastels & collage. work on whatever size good quality paper you have available, which can later be mounted onto a design sheet
Produce a drawing of a view from your window. Include lots of detail such as the snow resting on plants and leaves. Use a pencil to shade using tone (light to dark). Work on A4 paper or in your sketchbook, try to fill the whole page.

Using your text books and notes to revise from Complete the summary questions in the text book and check your answers in the back of the book.
Attempt AQA exam style questions for each topic and mark them your teacher has given you a copy of the mark scheme.
Go over your mock exam paper and revise the areas that you did less well on. Redo your mock exam and improve your score.
