Entry requirements
5 GCSEs or equivalent. At least Grade C in double science or separate sciences is essential. At least a grade C in English is also very desirable.
A stimulating course which emphasises the way in which biologists work and their contributions to society.

Each unit is examined separately, but some also include practical investigations.
Many Higher Education courses including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy; biomedical science; and teaching.
Usually GCSEs grade A – C.

Assessment is through written exam and practical tests in the classroom.
Please note: this course is usually combined with AS levels and is for those students who have not yet gained a science qualification at GCSE.
This qualification can enable you to move up to Biology AS level and/or will support applications to university for students wanting to study health related courses.
